Carrigtwohill Historical Society has organised an outing to Elizabeth Fort in Barrack Street Cork on Saturday 4th June at 2.30.
Elizabeth Fort was built in 1601 on a limestone outcrop overlooking the medieval, walled city of Cork by George Carew, the president of Munster during the reign of Elizabeth I.
It offers not only a glimpse of life as it was 400 years ago, but also some wonderful views over Cork city.
Meeting at Community Centre, Carrigtwohill at 1.30 to depart at 1.45.  Lifts available for those without transport.
