Well Everyone, what a day !! From an idea only 3 weeks ago by Ned Ramsell himself, what a tremendous success today turned out to be. Even the weather was on our side.

Ned then roped in Roma Walsh who in turn roped in Mary O’Connor, John Buckley Jnr., Stephen Moore, Lorraine O’Connell, Maeve Horgan & Norman Walsh (even though Norman thought we were planning next years Parade, I think he may have fainted when he realised it was in 3 weeks) !

Its not often anyone on this particular committee are lost for words but as we travelled up the village today, came up past Ryan & Ahern and looked up the road , we all just looked at each other in complete awe ! The huge volume of people who turned out to watch our Parade was just phenomenal ! We were completely shocked to see what our ‘small’ parade had turned into !

This was not an event that was made this special by a Committee, it was made special by the Community Spirit that lives and breathes in Carrigtwohill. We have an amazing village, amazing people who have a great sense of community, and a huge volume of resources available to us. We are all very lucky indeed.

We cannot thank everyone enough and its probably wise not to name anyone individually but THANKS everyone and we hope that everyone both involved and looking on had a great day !

Hello Everyone ! A group of people have come together to organise a St. Patrick’s Day Parade for Carrigtwohill.

carrigpaddysdayparade

The last time a parade took place was apparently in 1982. This is a huge opportunity for everyone to come together and have a bit of fun.

We propose a starting time of 1.15pm on St. Patrick’s Day and we already have a large number of Clubs, businesses, and people on board to enter into the Parade. We are calling on anyone who can volunteer, donate or help out with any anything whether big or small !

So, let’s get spreading the word and have a bit of ‘craic’ !
