Deascéal / Good News – C2H2040 – Irish Strand -Conradh na Gaeilge
A local branch of Conradh na Gaeilge is being set up to meet the start-up goals of the Irish Strand of the Culture and Heritage section of the C2H2040 Project.
The aim of the Carrigtwohill Conradh na Gaeilge branch will be to gradually increase the use and visibility of Irish in our community and to ensure that all in our community who wish it have access to Irish in a way which suits them.
The first steps of the group will be to set up ‘Re-introduction to Irish’ classes / ‘Ciorcail chómhrá’ for those who have some Irish but would like to use it in a supportive environment;
run ‘Gaeilge Ab Initio – Irish For Complete Beginners’ classes;
provide some more informal social occasions where people can use their Irish in a relaxed setting.
Once the branch gets established the only limits are our imagination, enthusiasm and energy – ní neart go cur le chéile!
At the moment we are asking you to take one (or all) of the actions below to support us:
1. please forward this email to anyone you think who might be interested in promoting Irish in Carrigtwohill or attending one of the activities mentioned above;
2. please respond to the email address (tony.ofloinn@mic.ul.ie) if you might like to attend one of the activities mentioned above at some time in the future or if you would just like to be kept informed;
3. if you already have reasonable Irish and are willing to use it for the benefit of our community, please consider joining the core organising group which will set up the branch, run the first activities, draw in more members to create a vibrant group, and work hand in hand with the wider Carrigtwohill community. Please emailtony.ofloinn@mic.ul.ie if this is something you may be interested in, if you would just like further information, or if you would be willing to help out now and again.
Go raibh míle maith agat.
Tony Ó Floinn,
Craobh Charraig Thuathail.
