Robbie Sheehan was presented with the Spratt’s sponsored Community Award for January 2016 at the awards ceremony on March 19th.
Robbie has been at the heart of the community over a long period of years and has always given service above and beyond to whatever cause he is involved in.
He is a long standing member of community council and has been deeply involved involved in all the councils activities, i.e. commnity centre maintenance, car boot sales, festivals, millennium park, all weather pitch, walkway, playground, tidy towns projects like the rock at Tullagreine and the new Tullagreine walkway etc.
As the owner of East Cork Plant Hire, his machinery has always been made available to all areas of the community.
He is also involved with several other organisation including the Pigeon Hill and Carrigtwohill Point to Point Committee.
Following the announcement of the award, congratulations and tributes have been flowing in from far and wide for this most worthy winner.
Robbie never seeks publicity for his work and had to be tricked into attending the award event and he was caught totally by surprise by the large crowd attending to acknowledge his contribution to community activities in Carrigtwohill.
